Software Test Automation Resource, STAR, was founded in late 2006 as a software consulting company focusing on resolving software quality assurance test automation challenges, helping customers to select and utilize test automation tools, and ensure it successful implementation.

 

In mid 2007, STAR realized the need to integrate multiple automation tools under one platform for ease of maintenance, central metrics repositories and tighter team collaboration. Shortly after this realization, STAR partnered with Pragmatic Software Company, the maker of the Software Planner Application Lifecycle Management tool, and AutomatedQA, Inc, maker of the TestComplete Test Automation tool. Through this partnership, STAR developed an integration between these award winning tools. STAR continued to develop integrations with Software Planner with other Test Automation Tools; integrated bridges with Software Planner to QTP, WinRunner, Rational Robot, Rational Functional Tester and more. With STAR innovative, flexible technology, Software Planner becomes the first and most integrated, with test automation tools, ALM solution on the market.

 

In the mid of 2009, AutomatedQA/SmartBear acquired Pragmatic Software Company and welcomed Software Planner to their growing family. STAR continue their journey of developing innovative technologies and leading practices such as Keyword Driven Framework integrated in Software Planner allowing Subject Matter Experts creating test automation without scripting and maintenance.

 

In the early 2010, STAR partnered with Microsoft Corporation and delivered integrated, test automation Bridges for SharePoint 2007-2010.
